NICOLE SWIATEK, DPT, BSMS, FAAOMPT
Nicole Swiatek, DPT, BSMS, FAAOMPT, owner of Phoenix Physical Therapy and New York State Licensed Physical Therapist, has over 15 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics. She graduated from D’Youville College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Science and a Master of Science degree in Physical therapy. She completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree at D’Youville College in 2008. She completed fellowship training in orthopedic manual physical therapy at Daemen College in 2011 and is recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. She has also been recognized by Business First as a 2011 Healthcare Top 50 recipient, as well as a 2012 Thirty Under 30 recipient. She has completed numerous advanced training courses and is an adjunct professor at D’Youville College. Nicole is focused on providing her patients with hands-on, evidenced based treatment options to get them back to their pain-free lives. Nicole lives in Clarence with her husband and spends most of her free time playing with her three young sons.
KIMBERLEE CARPENTER, DPT, MS, Cert. SMT
Kimberlee Carpenter, DPT, MS, Cert. SMT, is a New York State licensed physical therapist and has over 15 years of clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics. She graduated from D’Youville college with a bachelor of science degree in clinical science and a Master of science degree in physical therapy. In 2014 she completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. Kim earned the distinction of becoming one of the first therapists in New York State to achieve advanced certification in spinal manipulation from the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy in 2010. She has also completed numerous advanced training courses in the areas of functional exercise, soft tissue management, and Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment from the McKenzie Institute. Kim was recognized as a “health care champion” by Buffalo Business First in 2016. As Clinical Coordinator of Education for Phoenix Physical Therapy, she enjoys mentoring students. In addition to her clinical involvement she is an adjunct professor at D’Youville College. She believes that the "hands on" approach when working with her patients in conjunction with an individualized exercise program promotes the best outcomes. Compassionate care is the foundation for her approach, and her main goal is to restore patients to their prior level of function quickly. She lives in East Amherst with her husband.
KEVIN SCIBETTA, DPT
Kevin Scibetta, DPT, is a New York State Licensed Physical Therapist. He graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2017 with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Since graduating he has attended continuing education courses on topics such as corrective exercise, manual therapy, spinal manipulations, pain science, and chronic pain. The main aspect of clinical practice he loves the most is being able to give patients the tools necessary to take control of their pain and function. Kevin is a Buffalo native who now lives in Amherst with his son, wife, and dogs.
JUSTIN NELSON, DPT
Justin Nelson is a South Buffalo native who graduated from D’Youville College in 2018 with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Justin also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Studies in 2015. Since graduation, he has attended several continuing education courses, including a three-level McGill Method course focusing on spinal stabilization, as well as part A of a four-part McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy certification. Justin intends to complete all four parts of the McKenzie MDT certification, as well as other courses in spinal manipulation, myofascial release, and vestibular rehabilitation. While attending D’Youville, Justin was the captain of the D’Youville hockey team and continues to enjoy playing hockey recreationally.
JOANN O’LOUGHLIN, PTA
Joann O’Loughlin has been an avid runner for over thirty years, running distances from the mile up to many marathons including several Bostons. She starting exploring physical therapy as a possible second career after rehabbing from several running related injuries as well as being hit by a car while running. Joann went back to school as a non traditional student with the support of her husband Kieran and three children; Chloe, Ruairi and Fiona. Joann graduated from University at Buffalo with a BS in ES, then went on to Villa Maria College where she graduated with highest honors with a PTA degree. Joann is passionate about partnering with her patients in order to get them back to doing the things they love to do. Manual therapy offers patients a different approach which has been highly effective when paired with traditional exercise-based therapy. Joann loves to continue to challenge herself mentally and physically in order to make her a better therapist and person. In addition to being passionate about her work, she also loves spending time with family and friends, cooking, biking and of course-running.
DAVID KOEPPEL, DPT
David Koeppel DPT, is a New York State licensed Physical Therapist. He graduated from D’Youville College in 2020 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. In 2017, he also obtained a Bachelor’s in Exercise and Sports Studies. Playing sports such as football, hockey, basketball, and soccer led to his interest in exercise and physical health. David has a passion for helping others and has done so through coaching football since 2014. He believes his coaching experiences work in unison with his career as a Physical Therapist, allowing him to teach individuals of all ages healthy movement patterns. David believes individuals can reach their goals when combining manual therapy and exercise. Outside of work David loves his dogs, camping, hiking, fishing, and riding his ATV.
STEPHANIE BOBECK, DPT
Stephanie graduated from Daemen College in 2020 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Shortly after graduation, she began her career working in outpatient orthopedics. In 2022, Stephanie completed a 135 hour lymphedema certification course which allowed her to treat patients with lymphedema by practicing the use of manual lymphatic drainage, compression therapy, exercise, and skin care. She also attended other continuing education courses on the basis of functional exercises to use in everyday practice. She looks forward to further continuing education courses on the topics of MDT and manual therapy. Stephanie currently resides in Lancaster and enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, attending Pilates, and playing golf with her boyfriend.
MADISON BRUNKE, DPT
Madison Brunke, DPT, is a New York State licensed physical therapist. She graduated from Western University with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology in 2017, from Point Loma Nazarene University with a Masters of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Integrative Wellness in 2019 and from D Youville University with a Doctorate Of Physical Therapy in 2023. From a young age, Madison has always had a passion for helping others and wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, ultimately deciding on physical therapy after volunteering at a physical therapy clinic and as a student trainer for varsity teams during her undergraduate degree. Madison believes in creating a plan of care that combines manual therapy and therapeutic exercise that is unique to each patient, based on their specific needs and goals. Madison looks forward to continuing her education to further advance her ability to serve the Buffalo community; intending to complete pelvic health physical therapy certifications, the McKenzie Institute MDT courses, and courses in spinal manipulation and soft tissue management. Originally from Northern Ontario, Madison loves to spend her time outside, whether it's hitting the slopes in the winter or being on the water with friends. She loves going for hikes with her dog and is always up for trying a new sport; currently having her boyfriend teach her tennis. While she enjoys an active lifestyle, she is a foodie and loves talking recipes and restaurant recommendations.
HELEN GIBSON, DPT
Helen graduated from D’Youville University in 2023 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy, after obtaining a Bachelor’s in Exercise and Sports Studies. She grew up as a dancer, and has always had a passion for staying active and helping others reach their goals. After completing a 225-hour internship in sport performance coaching and training, Helen developed skills in sport specific rehab and injury prevention for all ages. She enjoys getting to know her patients and loves combining an individualized, hands on approach with functional exercise to help each patient improve their quality of life. Helen is looking forward to completing continuing education course in a variety of areas. She is a Clarence native who currently resides in Lancaster, and enjoys working out, visiting coffee shops and breweries around Buffalo, watching the Bills, and going to the waterfront.
